CLOSE CALL

I remember this day all to well. I am 11 and my names Lizzie.

My town is stort of hilly, but we had a tornado about 20-30 years ago. i wasn’t born yet.

So i am just sitting in my dining room, and i looked out the window really fast. i saw A PITCH BALCK CLOUD. i was all like, what the hell? i ran to the TV ant turned on the weather channel:

“THE NATOINAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED AN EXTREME TORNADO WARNING.”

But they didn’t say to take cover, so i was SO stupid and i didn’t take cover. but i had a gut feeling that this was real.

I had an interest in tornadoes ever since i was, about 8 when i saw one on TV.

My dad called a few minutes later. the first thing that he said was:

“You have a tornado warning in your area.” {real nice dad.}

Then i got so stinkin scared. i started to cry over the phone and my mom was all like, its ok sweetie.

It wasn’t ok. she didn’t know yet.

So I took her hand and brought her down stares and turned on the TV to the weather channle. after she saw, all she would say was, i cant believe this. I cant belive this. i couldn’t either.

My BFF called me and i yelled into the phone and siad:

“THERE IS A TORNADO WARNING, LOOK ON THE TV. DO IT NOW!” {me}

“OK!OK!” {my friend}

Suddenly, there was A GAINT BULT OF LIGHTNING THAT HIT THE GROUND.

“I HAVE TO GO! IF the lightning hists the power lines, we will die. i hope to see you tommorow.”

“You to.”

When we hung up,I yelled, WE HAVE TO GET THE HELL INTO THE BASMENT!

My mom said Ok if iIgot really scared. I was.

In our living room, we have a rosery hung to give out home good luck. I think thats what its for.

I grabbed it, and started to pray on the living room floor.

She sat with my little brother who was about 7, yeah at the time.

Suddenly more lightning hit, and boy did it hit hard. i could feel the ground move, well vibrate at points. my Dad was at work. so I prayed for him to. I prayed to keep my life, to make sure that my Dad , Mom and Brother would be safe and, that no matter what happened we would all come out alive.

Then therre WAS THE LOUDEST CLAP OF THUNDER EVER. if you peeps where youd go deaf. I cant belivce that i didn’t.

IDK how long it lasted, but there never was an acutul tornado.
I think that the storm lasted for about a good 40 minutes.

My Dad came home safe and we all had dinner together that night.

After dinner, I went outside and sat on our swing. I looked into the sun-set and thanked God for letting me, my family and the people who lived around me live.

You should live life to the fullest, becouse sadly, you never know when it can be gone.
