I was 10 and at school when the tornado sirens went off. All day we had been under a tornado watch. My mom had warned me that there would be storms.
Me and my best friends were eating lunch. The lunch supervisors opened the door and looked outside. I was close enough to look and the sky was pitch black. That really scared me so I told my friends to look outside. They did and then they got scared too. Suddenly the tornado sirens started, but me and my friends didn’t hear them. So we didn’t know why the lunch supervisors ushered us into the hallway. We all just dropped everything and ran. When we got to the wall a lot of people started crying. I started praying because my house was less than a mile away from my school. We really thought something was going to happen, but a few minutes later the tornado sirens stopped. No one knew how much damage there was or even if a tornado had actually touched down. Later we found out that a funnel cloud was spotted, but never touched the ground. After that we continued on with our day.
Ever since that day I have been facinated with tornadoes. I have also been very afraid of them. Thank God that nothing happen.
